This is day 6 of our 21 Days of Prayer, Fasting, and Personal Devotion. The first day was on Sunday, March 26th and we will celebrate on the last day, Easter Sunday, April 16th.
Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
You may not realize it, but there is a constant battle going on over your attention. Advertisers are fighting for your money. Entertainment is fighting for your time. Fear is fighting for your faith. Lust is fighting for your affections. And all of hell is fighting for your call.
The world seems busier today but this is nothing new. King David experienced the same thing but he made a decision that you have to make as well.
David decided that God’s voice would be the loudest voice in his life. You need to make the same decision.
David decided to write, read, and speak to his soul. Your soul is where your thought life is anchored. If you master where your soul is looking you set the direction of your life.
David refused to allow outside voices dictate his thought life. He commanded his soul to focus on who God is and what he has promised for his life. Decide today that you are going to believe what God has said about you.
Then, don’t just think it, write it, read it, and speak it over yourself. Write it on your bathroom mirror with soap so you have to see yourself through the promise. Do what it takes to command your soul to bless the Lord and remember all of his promises.
